Dr. Fresco is professor at Kent State University and an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, USA. He is the coordinator of the Psychopathology and Emotion Regulation Laboratory. His research program adopts an affective science perspective to conduct basic, translational, and treatment research on anxiety and mood disorders. Drawing from affective and contemplative neuroscience findings, Dr. Fresco has conducted NIH funded clinical trials to evaluate the clinical efficacy and identify the neural underpinnings of mindfulness based interventions for conditions including PTSD, hypertension, and adolescent obesity. Dr. Fresco has also developed Emotion Regulation Therapy, an integrative mind-body psychotherapy that draws from contemporary approaches as well as affect science and neuroscience.
